Giuseppe Filianoti Shines in Paris
Tenor Giuseppe Filianoti is coming off a triumphant run with the Opéra National de Paris, where he starred in the title role of Jacques Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann. Singing ten performances in a production by Robert Carsen, Filianoti received rave reviews for his work. Manon Ardoin of Culture Mag said that Filianoti 'assumes the role of Hoffmann with brilliance", while Helene Kuttner of French Premiere Magazine describes him as 'simply fantastic, with a vibrant voice, energy, and a fiery temperament.' Clips of his performances can be found here and here.
Following his success in the French capital, Filianoti this fall will move on to the Metropolitan Opera in New York for six performances in a repeat run as Hoffmann, stating on September 28th and ending on October 19.
