Important Firsts for Bryan Hymel

Bryan Hymel is currently singing his first performances of Don José in Bizet's Carmen with Canadian Opera Company, a role which figures to play an important part of 2010. In June, he will sing this part in his debut at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden (June 5, 8, 14, 16, 18, 21, 24, 26) including in a High Definition Telecast. Shortly thereafter, he will sing this role with Sir Simon Rattle and Magdalena Kožená and the Simon Bolivar Orchestra in Caracas, Venezuela in July, 2010. Between productions of Carmen, he will make his Netherlands Opera debut, undertaking the role of Énee in the Pierre Audi production of Berlioz' Les Troyens (April 4, 8, 12, 16, 21, 25, 28, May 2) under the direction of John Nelson.
